Following on from Ireland’s first Test, where they were narrowly beaten by Pakistan, Afghanistan make the trip to India.
Afghanistan’s rise has been nothing short of astonishing. Ten years ago, they beat Jersey in the WCL Division Five final and have not stopped moving upwards.
Since then, they’ve contested global tournaments and beaten Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.
They head to Bengaluru with a strong record in India too, playing a number of limited-overs matches in the country.
Indeed, they have lost just five of the 18 matches across formats in India, though that matters for little when the red ball is the focus this week.
In Rashid Khan, Afghanistan have one of the most exciting young cricketers in the world and it will be fascinating to see how he fares against the world No 1 Test side.
India aren’t at full strength, with the likes of Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah missing out but R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja could feature.
And here’s how you can see if Afghanistan can produce a famous upset on their Test debut.
